Diets rich in magnesium may help lower the risk of colon cancer, but supplementary research shows that many adults do not meet the recommended dietary allowances for magnesium, which is available in grains, vegetables, nuts and milk. The researchers based their conclusion on dietary intake, not magnesium supplements.
