Washington state agrees to study exit exam

Resolving for now a heated debate over whether the state's exit exam should be scrubbed, Washington state lawmakers agreed to create a two-year task force that will study why children are failing the exam and recommend alternative assessments. Students in the Class of 2008, the first cohort to have to pass the test to graduate, still must take the exam this spring.
