Mississippi official receives 40% of donations from insurers

Records show that Mississippi Insurance Commissioner George Dale raised about 40% of his campaign funds from insurers and individuals with ties to the industry. The state's laws do not forbid insurance commissioners from taking donations from insurers or from trade groups. Dale has held the post since 1975 and said earlier this month that he will seek re-election.
