Health IT pioneer recommends "rethinking" EHR strategy

A physician who has worked on standards for health IT says a new approach is needed to ensure the efficacy of EHR initiatives. Dr. Donald Simborg says the current EHR adoption policy "if not modified, may backfire." EHRs can lead to less accurate documentation and can make it easier to commit fraud, he says.
