Merrill settles CDO dispute with Massachusetts city

Merrill Lynch & Co. has settled a dispute with the City of Springfield, Mass., over collateralized debt obligations it sold the city. Merrill agreed to pay $13.9 million under the terms of the agreement. "In my view, Merrill Lynch has now done the right thing," Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno said.
