S.D. governor seeks to abstain from testifying in adequacy lawsuit

South Dakota's governor would be excused from testifying in a case over the adequacy of the state's school funding under a motion filed by the state attorney general's office. The lead attorney for the plaintiffs asserted that the governor declined to testify "only after testimony came out from multiple superintendents across the state ... about the deplorable conditions in their districts." The governor's office did not comment for this article.
