Struggling schools face takeovers

After five years of struggling academically, up to 48 Louisiana schools could be taken over by private companies by the end of the year. "The local school systems have had their opportunities to do this, so now we really do have to consider trying something very different," said Walter C. Lee, a superintendent and state school board member.
