Clean-tech sector welcomes $2.4B budget; analyst says more is needed

The clean-technology sector welcomed President Barack Obama's decision to boost the budget for energy efficiency and renewable-energy programs from $113 million to nearly $2.4 billion for the fiscal year 2011. But analysts say the industry still needs long-term government support. "I don't think people realize the scope of how much money really needs to be spent to make big structural changes in either our energy consumption, use or production," said Christopher Blansett, an analyst from J.P. Morgan.
