Group pushes for farm-animal care measure in Ohio

Ohioans for Humane Farms called on the state secretary to support a ballot initiative for a bill directing the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board to "adopt certain minimum standards" designed to stop cruelty against farm animals, boost food safety and other goals. The Humane Society of the United States-led group needs to gather 600,000 signatures to place the measure on the Ohio ballot in November.
