Jury: Caterpillar must pay paralyzed construction worker $54.2 million

Caterpillar must pay $54.2 million to a worker who was accidentally paralyzed while operating a Wheel Tractor 623 G Scraper near Dallas, a Texas jury ruled. The worker suffered spinal injuries and a punctured lung after the scraper bounced up and down and knocked him against its frame. Holt Texas, the dealer that sold the scraper, must pay the worker $2.1 million, the jury ruled.
