One of the biggest threats to hoteliers during tough times is the loss of good employees, and a lack of motivation can be a key reason for leaving. A list of 10 tips for motivating employees includes finding the right job for the right person, empowering employees by trusting them to make their own decisions, making team work -- not team competition-- a goal, and using the 5:1 rule of issuing praise and recognition five times as much as constructive feedback.
