Proposed rules on organic dairy farming elicit mixed reaction

Rules proposed by the National Organic Standards Board requiring organic dairies to limit the number of cows and graze them on larger pastures over a longer time period is getting a mixed reaction from the industry. Supporters contend that the rules will help keep "factory farms" from claiming organic status, while opponents argue say the regulations would make it difficult for some ranchers to keep their organic status.
