Report pegs cost of dismantling France's reactors at $24 billion

France would need to spend more than $24 billion to decommission its 58 reactors, according to a report from France's state auditor. Managing the country's radioactive waste, meanwhile, would cost about $37.4 billion, the study stated. The report intends "to fuel the public debate over the costs of this energy and to help inform our citizens," said French Prime Minister Francois Fillon.
