Starbucks sees sales boost with global lead in mobile payments

Starbucks' 26 million mobile transactions over the past year makes the coffee retailer the world leader in that category, company President Howard Schultz said. The payment application is also leading to more frequent purchases, Schultz said, adding that "the macro issues that are facing many companies, we have been able to turn into a competitive advantage with regard to value, social digital media and mobile payment."
