San Francisco 49ers defensive back Chris Culliver has apologized for comments made this week when he told a radio host he would be opposed to having an openly gay player on his team. Jim Harbaugh, the 49ers head coach, called the remarks "a big deal," and said Culliver understands the seriousness of the offense. "It's going to impact him going forward. He will learn about himself. I hope and pray it affects him in a positive way going forward," Harbaugh said.
