Analysis: GOP considering new approach to LGBT issues

Republican officials and donors are discussing the need for the party to moderate its rhetoric on LGBT equality. Former Republican National Committee Chairman Jim Gilmore this week said the party risks becoming a permanent minority if it continues to project anger at the gay community. "Republicans have to decide if they want to govern or play ideological parlor games," said Gilmour. But Jimmy LaSalvia of the conservative LGBT group GOProud isn't convinced real change will happen soon. "They’re not done losing yet," he said.
