Fla. is making progress with Race to the Top projects:

Florida has improved its performance under Race to the Top after being warned that it was taking too long to implement certain reforms it had agreed to in exchange for receiving $700 million in federal grants. "Florida has made encouraging progress toward implementing its plan, and we want to see that growth accelerate in the second half of the grant," said U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan.
