Teacher: Common core to bring more mature books to schools

Implementation of the Common Core State Standards likely will mean that the more mature books being taught in class will be challenged by parents and others, Colorado high-school teacher Jessica Keigan writes in this blog post. Keigan writes that her literary choices have been challenged at times during her decade in the classroom and she reflects on her role in exposing students to challenging works while also developing partnerships with parents.
