Study: Breast cancer patients benefit from online support

Many breast cancer patients turn to online support groups following their diagnosis, regardless of age, income or education, according to a new study. In tracking 144 women who were provided with the tools to go online for education and support following a breast cancer diagnosis, researchers found that those who made the most use of the online support were more likely to report higher energy levels, fewer concerns about their condition and more positive provider-patient relationships.
