Study: Toll necessary for new St. Louis bridge

A new toll bridge spanning the Mississippi River is essential for St. Louis' economic well-being and quality of life, according to a new study commissioned by the St. Louis Regional Business Council. The study concluded that gas tax revenues, alone, would not be enough to fund the bridge and that a toll could raise as much as $700 million to $950 million for the project.
