Landscapers turn to maintenance in economic downturn

California landscapers are turning to maintenance rather than installation work in the economic downturn. "Our installation division at the beginning of last year was working pretty steadily, but it started to fall off in April," said Dan Zuccaro, president of Zuke's Landscape. The Rancho Cordova landscaping firm received $3.2 million for commercial maintenance and $550,000 for commercial installation in 2008.
