Talk at the American Securitization Forum's annual meeting is focused on pending rules that would require issuers to hold a piece of the risk on their balance sheet, among other proposed regulations. For that reason, it is fitting the ASF is holding its meeting in a Washington suburb. Besides the huge federal presence in home-mortgage securities, the industry likely will be reshaped by Congress and the administration.
