Eaton gets $2M in federal funds for hybrid vehicle

The Department of Defense awarded $2 million to the Eaton Vehicle Group to continue its development of a digital hydraulic hybrid-drive system for the U.S. Army. The vehicles will enable the military to save fuel while driving in harsh terrains. The company also reached a five-year, $300,0000 agreement for a joint testing lab for commercial and military hybrid-drive systems and components at Western Michigan University.
