Interior Department budget would fund climate-science centers

President Barack Obama's fiscal 2011 budget proposal includes funding for climate-science and wildlife centers, expansion of the carbon-sequestration program, a land-conservation cooperative, a fish and wildlife monitoring program and full funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The budget also calls for the Interior Department to expedite permits for solar, geothermal and wind projects on federal land and waters while increasing fees and eliminating tax breaks for oil and gas companies.
