U.S. senator to delve into online business practices in China

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., is set to hold a hearing to look into the business practices of U.S. companies such as Amazon, Apple and Facebook in "Internet-restricting countries." The assistant Senate majority leader sent letters to about 30 major Internet companies. In a letter to Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon.com, Durbin requests information about the company's "future plans for protecting human rights, including freedom of expression and privacy, in China."
