Virginia hospitals offer PET/CT imaging using N13-ammonia

Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Virginia has started to offer PET/CT imaging services using the radioisotope N13-ammonia for cardiac patients. Only about 3% of U.S. hospitals provide the service, a technologist at Lewis-Gale said. Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Va., a competitor of Lewis-Gale, also has started offering the diagnostic test.
