CIO shares 2 resources for ICD-10 planning

The move to ICD-10 is an expensive endeavor that will not improve quality, efficiency or safety, but its implementation likely won't be delayed, writes Dr. John Halamka, CIO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Hence, Halamka notes that his organization is forging ahead with the transition and shares two tools that other health groups can use in their ICD-10 preparations. They are the Request for Assistance, which is used to employ a consulting partner, and a letter asking stakeholders to support ICD-10.
