GPRE starts building algae facility in Iowa

Green Plains Renewable Energy has started building an algae-production facility adjacent to its ethanol plant in Shenandoah, Iowa. Upon completion, the five-acre facility will grow algae from carbon dioxide emissions from the ethanol plant using BioProcess Algae technology.
