Higher diabetes risk seen in obese women on Depo-Provera

Researchers at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine found that obese women and those at a healthy weight who received the long-term birth control injection Depo-Provera became insulin resistant. However, the obese women were more likely to remain so, elevating their risk of type 2 diabetes.
