NPD In-Stat: Smart mobile devices will grow more than 25% a year

Smart, feature-rich mobile devices -- primarily notebooks, smartphones and tablet computers -- will post a compound annual growth rate of 25.7% through 2015, NPD In-Stat forecasts. That compares with the average annual growth of 8.7% expected for all mobile electronics. These smart "magnet platforms" will help drive adoption of other Internet-connected consumer electronics, according to the market research firm.
