University in Taiwan develops automatic virtual metrology

Taiwanese researchers have developed a method they call automatic virtual metrology, which they say could reduce measurements needed for semiconductors, flat panels and solar cells from four hours to six minutes. The technique can also inspect and measure all parts of an electronic device at one time, rather than randomly measure some parts, according to the National Cheng Kung University.
