Certain situations are better handled with a phone call than with an e-mail, writes Melanie Rembrandt. Phone calls allow you to react more quickly and are better for handling sensitive issues, she writes. "By hearing what someone else has to say, and how they say it, you'll have a better chance of solving problems, improving relationships and showing empathy," she writes.
