How to teach students to assess the credibility of digital news

Teaching students to think critically about information and sources found on the Internet is becoming an increasingly important 21st-century skill, writes Peter Adams, senior vice president of educational programs for The News Literacy Project. In this blog post, Adams offers three exercises educators can use to help students develop this skill, such as having them analyze the news and checking facts. "News literacy education has the potential to engage students and ignite their critical thinking," he writes.
