High doses of aspirin best in colon cancer prevention

New published research by U.S. scientists indicates the greatest benefits in colon cancer prevention occur when aspirin is taken in higher doses than those cited for heart disease prevention. But both the authors and a related editorial in the Annals of Internal Medicine cautioned there needs to be more evaluation of the risks of higher aspirin dosages, with the editorial warning that bleeding risk from high aspirin dosage may outweigh the anti-cancer benefits.
