Treat diabetes earlier, more aggressively, urge new guidelines

New recommendations in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes suggest physicians take greater measures to treat the disease earlier and aggressively, with two or more drugs in order try to get blood sugar levels close to normal. The recommendations, from two leading endocrinology groups, also say screening should begin at age 30 for people who are at high risk for developing diabetes.
