DOD may cut Rolls-Royce engine from JSF program

The Department of Defense may recommend dropping Rolls-Royce's engine from the Joint Strike Fighter program to save $1.8 billion over several years, according to reports. The Pentagon and Office of the Management and Budget declined to comment on the report. The other engine in the JSF program is built by Pratt & Whitney.
