Kentucky diploma to require four years of math

The Kentucky Department of Education has unanimously approved raising the number of math credits needed for high school graduation from three to four, including geometry and algebra II, starting with the Class of 2012. Some fear the move will force schools to cut career-oriented electives to make room for the new math classes.
