More banks, wireless subs see value of mobile services

Banks, both small and large, are introducing services to cell phone customers that let them check balances, approve wire transfers, transfer funds and receive other account information over their handsets. ABI Research estimates that mobile-banking usage in the U.S. grew from 400,000 people in 2007 to 3.1 million in 2008.
