EPA, DOE create new agency for states' energy efficiency

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy have joined forces to help states promote energy efficiency. The State Energy Efficiency Action Network will convene in March and will provide technical assistance to states to advance energy efficiency. Meanwhile, as part of a nationwide federal effort to save energy in government buildings, $121 million in stimulus funds will help retrofit Cleveland's Federal Office Building with a new roof to boost energy efficiency.
