Reusable bags become fashion statement

More residents of Washington, D.C., are turning to reusable bags after a 5-cent tax on disposable plastic bags took effect Jan. 1. Aside from being functional, reusable bags appear to also make fashion statements. "People want fun bags," says gift-store owner Judy Philactos. "They are getting tired of the generic printed bags that grocery stores are giving out or selling. Bags are really a fashion statement."
