Sprint said to ready first WiMAX-enabled phone

Sprint Nextel has reportedly shown its first WiMAX-enabled smartphone, an Android-powered handset that features a 4.3-inch touch screen that contains HTC's Sense user interface. A WiMAX phone could provide a huge lift for Sprint's network, according to analysts who note that few devices have reached the touted optimum speeds of up to 6 megabits per second.
