St. Elizabeth's in Kentucky may appeal NICU denial

St. Elizabeth Healthcare said it likely will appeal a decision by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services rejecting its request to open a 12-bed advanced NICU. The University of Kentucky, which has an advanced unit, opposed the application, but St. Elizabeth found nearly 1,000 women leave the state to have their babies at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center or other facilities.
