CDS climb for U.S. companies

Manufacturing orders have decreased the most since December 1980. Consequently, credit default swaps covering U.S. corporate debt are on the rise. The Markit CDX North American Investment Grade Index increased 3.1 basis points Monday, reaching 74.4 basis points. The index has not been at that level since Nov. 5.
