Final installment of proposed FSMA rules targets food transport

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has released a proposed rule to prevent the contamination of human and animal food during transport. The final installment of key Food Safety Modernization Act regulations, the Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food rule, would set temperature-control requirements and specify food and non-food items in the same load should be separated. Public comments may be submitted through May 31.
