A majority of Pennsylvanians favor drilling for natural gas in the Marcellus Shale play, while some are concerned about its possible environmental hazards, a Franklin & Marshall College poll found. Sixty-four percent of those surveyed moderately or strongly agree with gas drilling, while 37% worry about risks that could outbalance the advantages of drilling, according to the poll. "There's a consistent narrative. The voters of the state say, 'Yep, we like the natural gas folks, but we want it done environmentally safely,' " said G. Terry Madonna, director of the poll.
