Why networking isn't the best way to job hunt

The fastest way to find a job is to reach out to employers directly instead of trying to network your way into a position, according to research from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Nearly two-thirds of unemployed job seekers from 1976 to 2011 eventually found work by contacting employers directly, the research found.
