Investigating clumping blood

The FDA is still conducting tests on bags of blood collected by the American Red Cross. The particles have been shown to not be infectious materials, but the agency is still investigating the samples to discern exactly what caused the blood to clump. Some hospitals have canceled all elective surgeries, pending the outcome of the FDA investigation.
