Commentary: Retired health providers needed in childhood obesity fight

Health care workers and retired providers working in community venues, schools and neighborhood clinics "constitute a potentially vast resource that could be tapped" to fight childhood obesity, two Brookings Institution experts write in a commentary. Local and state efforts are needed to mobilize these volunteers to help prevent and treat obesity in children and promote healthy lifestyles, they say.
