GoDaddy's banned Super Bowl spot lures 2M to the Web

Domain hosting firm GoDaddy is no stranger to seeing its ads banned by broadcast television networks. But when Fox refused to air an initial version of GoDaddy's Super Bowl spot featuring auto racer Danica Patrick and a bit of wordplay involving a beaver, the marketer posted the ad online, and then ran a retooled TV spot pushing viewers to its Web site. The result was a reported 2 million hits to GoDaddy.com on Super Bowl Sunday.
