Alcatel-Lucent will look for "innovative" startups

Alcatel-Lucent outlined more details Wednesday on its plans to overhaul its business, saying it has begun to benefit on a vow to form more partnerships by asking its Bell Labs research division and carrier-product group to find interesting startup companies to back. CEO Ben Verwaayen also said Alcatel would engage in "co-sourcing," -- teaming up with more established companies -- to save on costs.
